I’ve blogged before about the problems of kids developing skin irritation, lesions, burns and rashes from tagless tags, particularly those on Carter’s clothing. And I gave due credit to Z Recommends for breaking the story and doing lots of research on it because that’s the right thing to do. But does NBC think so? Nope. NBC’s LA affiliate is reporting on Carter’s tagless tags causing sking burns and taking all the credit, including inserting the NBC’s reporter name in an interview conducted by the good folk at Z Recommends.
I’m glad that NBC is covering the story. That means that more people will hear about the potential cause of a problem that can be difficult to identify. But I’m annoyed that NBC and Ana Garcia don’t give due credit to Z Recommends.
The FDA issued an advisory on the subject, but I don’t think it got much coverage. If you have a child with a skin rash, irritation or burn on the neck or center of the lower back. you may want to consider whether the tagless tag in his clothes is the cause. I’ve heard from readers about complaints with Carter’s, Walmart brands, and one complaint about Gymboree.
If you have had a problem, go tell Z Recommends. Z Recs is compiling the information. And give Z Recs the credit too!
